We have been successfully offering our “Fundamentals of Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation” seminar for many years to ensure that future emergency personnel are as well prepared as possible for their stay in a crisis region. <\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Challenges in the crisis area<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The challenges that humanitarian aid workers and\/or coordinators – just like other travelers to war or crisis areas – have to deal with during their stay abroad are many and varied: usually a foreign culture and language, food that often takes some getting used to, possibly a stressful climate and, as a rule, having to do without the comforts they are used to.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Working under difficult conditions<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The daily work has to be carried out under the most difficult conditions, while the need of those in need often seems to far exceed the possibilities to help. Long, mentally and physically demanding working days have to be mastered together with a team whose members did not know each other beforehand and who first have to find each other. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Numerous stress factors<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
In addition, they have to deal with unfamiliar, sometimes seemingly unreasonable structures and often a difficult security situation as well as restrictions on personal freedoms.<\/p>\n

These pressures cause massive stress and can severely limit the effectiveness of the emergency services. Conflicts can easily arise within a team under these circumstances. Cooperation with local authorities, with members of other aid organizations and, ultimately, with those in need of help also suffer as a result.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The webinar introduces the theoretical basics of humanitarian aid and development cooperation and offers participants sound preparation for upcoming assignments in various areas. This enables them to face the expected challenges with the necessary background knowledge and thus approach their work more calmly and efficiently, get to know and assess themselves better in advance and thus stabilize their own team. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The webinar is offered via Zoom. The minimum number of participants is 8, the maximum number is 15. <\/p>\n

Depending on the speakers, parts of the webinar may be held in English. A basic knowledge of the language is required. Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the training, on which all content is presented. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Our seminar team<\/h2><\/div>

All training courses and exercises are conducted by selected lecturers. These are, for example, experienced humanitarian aid workers and coordinators, coaches for teamwork and intercultural training, experts in international living and working, medical professionals and specialists from the German Armed Forces. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
