Personnel
LandsAid is an organization with relatively few employees and, consequently, low personnel costs. Six people are employed at the office, some of them part-time. In addition, between 15 and 20 volunteers contribute to the organization’s work in various areas.
Use of the donations
The administrative and advertising costs calculated by the DZI as a percentage of total expenditure have fluctuated between 5 and 19 percent in recent years – depending on expenditure and projects. As a small association, however, we are very economical in our administration and public relations work, averaging less than ten percent. Personnel costs are also included here.
We publish a comprehensive activity report every year in the form of an annual report. The current report can be found here: Annual reports

Expenses and income
Our expenditure and income are regularly reviewed by the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI). They regularly certify the proper use of donations, which is why we are entitled to bear the corresponding seal.
The conditions for the award include:
- the purposeful, economical and efficient use of donations
- clear and transparent accounting and reporting on business activities
- the proper audit of the accounts
- Appropriate fundraising that provides information on the use of donations and respects the dignity of those affected

Transparency initiative
What goals do we pursue, what means do we use and what does “we” actually mean? The Transparent Civil Society Initiative ensures maximum transparency. Organizations that commit themselves to disclosing all relevant information may use the initiative’s logo. We have compiled all the necessary information on one page to give you a quick overview of our organization and how we work.

Non-profit status
With the last notice of exemption, our non-profit status was again confirmed.

Testimonials from two donors
(Martin Kilian, donated €1,000 for Ukraine)
“I like to support people if I can be sure that the money will go where it is needed. Personal contacts – as in the case of Michaela Wiese and LandsAid – create trust. I particularly appreciate the fact that LandsAid is a small, manageable organization that works efficiently and openly shows what the funds are used for. In addition, the administrative costs are low.”
(Christoph Schaller, member, sponsor, supporter)
“I became more closely involved with LandsAid almost 20 years ago and was quickly convinced. This conviction gave rise to an ongoing commitment: I began to regularly support LandsAid projects together with my company, Autohaus Schaller. After all, it was important to me to play an even greater role in shaping and contributing – that’s why I became a member.”
